How AILeakShield compares with Microsoft Purview, Netskope, Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Check Point, Island, Akamai (LayerX), Harmonic Security, Prompt Security, Nightfall and Cyberhaven for shadow AI discovery, AI data loss prevention and AI governance. Every competitor claim links to the vendor's own documentation.
Every product here solves part of the same problem. We compare them on four jobs: Discover the AI in use, Control which tools are allowed, Protect the data that goes into approved tools, and Comply with evidence for leadership and auditors. We also compare how each one is deployed and bought, because a proxy, a new browser or an E5 license changes the cost of getting started.
Yes means documented. Partial means limited, an add-on, a separate product or preview. Not documented means we could not find it in the vendor's public documentation; it does not mean the vendor has tested and failed it.

Microsoft-native data security for E5 organizations. Deepest for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft agents.

Read the comparison →We would rather you buy the right tool. Large platforms such as Netskope, Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks and Cisco secure all web and app traffic, not only AI. Microsoft Purview goes deepest on Microsoft 365 Copilot for E5 customers. Data security platforms such as Nightfall and Cyberhaven cover email, SaaS and USB exfiltration as well as AI. Island and Akamai secure the whole browser session. Several vendors, including Harmonic, Prompt Security, Nightfall and Check Point, offer language-model detection, redaction on third-party AI sites or MCP gateways. AILeakShield is the better fit when you want AI governance specifically, without a proxy, E5 or a new browser, delivered directly or by your IT provider.
If you do not have Microsoft 365 E5, or you want AI governance without onboarding every device to Defender, AILeakShield covers AI discovery, blocking, prompt and file inspection, Microsoft 365 AI app governance and a NIST AI RMF assessment in one subscription.
No. Proxy and SASE platforms such as Netskope, Zscaler and Cisco Secure Access can control AI, but AILeakShield does it with a browser extension, log import and a Microsoft 365 connection, with no traffic steering or TLS inspection.
Several vendors have MSP programs. AILeakShield was built for the channel, with a multi-tenant partner console, per-client isolation, policy templates, RMM-based discovery, no seat minimum and distribution through TD SYNNEX.
We publish them ourselves, so we have tried hard to be fair: competitor information comes from vendor documentation checked October 21, 2026, each page lists where the competitor is stronger, and "Not documented" never means "No". Vendors can contact us with corrections.
AILeakShield discovers all the AI in your environment, blocks the AI tools you have not approved, and keeps sensitive data out of the prompts sent to the ones you have.
